Railway bridge

Railway bridge,
Alone I stand,
Sea beneath me sublime,
Sky above me divine,
Regularly trains pass,
Journeying on with passengers,
Chatting, laughing and many voices,
I listen to them as the moment passes,

I cannot voice my thoughts,
I keep thinking none the less,
Connecting thoughts with things,
Is my only pleasure,

Alone I shall stand forever,
Carrying trains over and over,
Occasionally the demise of a loner,
The railway bridge, a lonely thinker.
